Okay, there's already an add-on in github called 'email2activity' which will monitor an email account, lookup the candidate or client the email is sent to - then add the content of the email to the activitiy record. Note this is still an alpha - add-on, as we're concentrating on getting some back-end updates rolled-in before all the add-on functionality is fully checked.

Therefore - the workflow is that you email outbound and cc or bcc the monitored email account. It can also do the same for inbound emails.

        Hi Ralf,

yes I think this is two separate requests. One is availability management for candidates. There needs to be some separate tab to maintain lists of candidates and to confirm their availability. i.e. called candidate A and they're available until end of the month, therefore flag them red / notify that they need to be uppated after that time. Needs real recruiter input on how this would ideally work.

Second - search by distance. It's tricky, as you really need to have a zipcode database. I know there's a leaked one for the UK (it's a chargeable database in the UK). There is an option of US postcode db during the installation. If this was (alternatively) implemented as a google maps lookup, I suspect their API would kill the connection, as every candidate lookup would generate a API call. So for a single vacancy with 1000 candidates would give 1000 lookups. Let me know if you have any soltuions!
